Living the van-life: my East-Coast Australia road trip experience

Hey guys! In my last post “reasons I love SYDNEY” I told you about how Australia and especially Sydney blew my mind! Spending three months in Sydney and the surrounded area made me come back to Australia only six months after I came back to Europe. This was again such a short-term decision and I booked my flight five days before departure! Not even lying haha!!! After I handed in my master’s thesis I decided to jump on the plane with no plans and no clue what to expect! I felt like it was Christmas and my birthday at the same time :P. Luckily, as I already spend some time down under, I was too excited to see all my friends I made there again. It was so lovely how they managed to make this time unforgettable for me again and I am so happy and so thankful that I met those beautiful souls <3. Luckily, Nashy had some holidays during my five weeks stay in Australia so that we managed to do a three …

reasons I love SYDNEY

During our 5 months travel through South East Asia, me and my two travel buddies decided to visit Australia for three weeks. Funny that those three weeks turned into a stay for three months instead! Crazy isn’t it? 😀 We skipped our flights back to Bangkok after the first three weeks have passed because we just could’t leave! We by far hadn’t had enough of this amazing place on earth. But how could it be that there is a city that made me extend my stay from three weeks to three months? Why do I love this city and everything it offers so much? I never discovered that before. A place, that was not just nice to discover, but also unbelievable tempting to stay. Normally, I live a very fast life. In the past 6 years I moved more than 10 times. Throughout my trip though SE Asia, I spend not more than just a few days in one city. There was always the hunger for more. Fore something new. For the unknown to discover. …

never getting enough of BARCELONA

My favourite city in Europe? So far it’s definitely Barcelona! I’m honestly not a friend of visiting the same places again and again. I want to discover new spots. Go somewhere where I’ve never been before. But there are some exceptions: Cities I would visit over and over again. On of those cities is definitely Barcelona. I’ve been there three times and would love to go there again and again. But every time was so unique and I fell in love with this charming Spanish city in so many ways. The first time I’ve been there was a spontaneous decision made by one of my friends and me. We wanted to go just somewhere! It was right after school has finished for the big holidays and we decided to try “blind booking” offered by GermanWings during that time. No idea where we gonna end, we booked a trip and were more than amazed by the fact that it ended up being Barcelona! A few days later we took our luggage and made our way to …

the spirit of BALI

Bali is indeed a magical place! Last year my bestie and I decided to travel Bali for a month and discover the beauty this island has to offer. Spontaneous as we were we booked the trip two weeks in advance. A lot of people tell me how crazy it is to plan a trip short-term. I don’t think so at all, you still get super cheap plane tickets shortly before your desired trip and as I already explained in the article “tips and learnings from Thailand“, I’m a strong supporter of a flexible trip where you decide right at the destination for how long you want to stay at a spot. So we booked only two nights in advance at a home stay in Kuta, where our trip begun. I highly recommend to spend not more than one or two days in Kuta. It’s one of the least attractive spots in Bali in my opinion. Very touristy, very loud and a lot of party and cheap alcohol. Could be fun for the beginning, but the …

tips and learnings from my THAILAND trip

Hey guys! Thailand is really a popular destination in South East Asia and my very first asian destination I traveled to. I still know exactly how unbelievable excited I was when my sister and I got the idea to go for a two week holiday somewhere and my sister suggested Bangkok. We just booked two weeks beforehand but still got a relatively low price for the plain tickets. This happened in the year 2015 and when I look back, I just want to punch myself in the face because actually I did almost everything wrong that you can do wrong on this trip! Starting with the LUGGAGE: I went to Thailand with my leo-print suitcase from the brand “Titan”. NO JOKE!! I regretted this decision very very quickly as everyone was watching me with my leo-printed suitcase taking some tuk-tuks to my desired destinations. Of course all Thais thought this girl must be super rich! With my student budget on my bank account I was definitely not. LEARNING: I still suggest everyone to just take …
